We exist to support and encourage foster, adoptive, and kinship families in Central PA while mobilizing and equipping the community and local church so that children have a safe, loving, forever home in which to dwell.

About Dwell

Dwell is not a foster agency or an orphanage. The organization was born in 2019 out of a need for continued wrap-around support and a desire to see foster, adoptive, and kinship families thrive for the sake of the children entrusted to their care. The journey of foster care and adoption can be isolating and challenging, but it doesn’t need to be. We bridge that gap by providing five essential support programs to make these transitions easier and more compassionate for vulnerable children and their caregivers.

Did You Know?

On average, 50% of foster families will discontinue fostering within their first year of licensure. This is due to a significant lack of support and resources available to them. This leads to, on average, a child moving 4 times within their first year in care which compounds trauma for children in the child welfare system. Seeing the direct impact of these realities, Dwell desires to bridge the gap, providing services and a supportive community to foster, adoptive, and kinship families. When foster families feel heard and supported, 90% will continue fostering past their first year. This is why Dwell exists - because we believe that when we feel loved, nurtured, and cared for, we are better equipped to love, nurture, and care for the littles and the bigs in our home.
